Can a dog die from a broken leg?
If it is treated properly then your dog can’t die from a broken leg. A broken leg can cause serious health issues if the wound isn’t taken care of and infection is starting to spread. In some cases, if the leg has been broken in multiple places and your veterinarian thinks the quality of a healed leg won’t be sufficient, an amputation might be suggested.
Even though a broken leg will usually heal on its own, you should still take your dog to a veterinarian for best healing results.
